"The Sign of the Strawberry"

Since the 19th November 2011,  I have been working as a member of a team of four students that has been working on the entire costume department of a production called "The Sign of the Strawberry". The production is a site specific performance based at Strawberry Hill House, Twickenham. The general plot revolves around the residence of ghost: Horace Walpole and his visitors. It touches on themes of inheritance and ghost analysis.
The performance itself is humorous and also thrilling. Set in the gothic "castle" with eery lighting effects.
Working alongside peers: supervisor Leane Grote, and fellow costume makers; Eliza Harris and Emma Louise Michael, I have worked with them to create the designs and costumes appropriate to this piece. I shall include my own designs within this blog. Please note that they have been subject to change, but I shall explain this regarding each individual design in their relevant posts.
In conjunction with designing and making costumes, we have also been responsible for sourcing, running, dressing and alterations. Not to mention makeup and props. It has been very intense but equally a very valuable experience.
