Opening Night:
After replacing the cord for Horace Walpole's breeches, we realised that actually, since the toile fittings, the actor's measurements had changed slightly, and therefore the breeches needed altering. However, this was only realised just before the performance, which called for improvisation and a safety pin... This was not ideal but prevented them from falling down again (which needless to say, was essential).
The only other costume related hiccough today, was when the buckle fell off Horace's shoe. This had only been attached with double sided tape, and clearly needs re-thinking.
Also, after the show, we were presented with some feed-back regarding the Mad Monk costume, where the cowl and false head requested, were not in proportion to the rest of the character. We decided to overcome this by suggesting over sized skeletal hands, as well as moving the rope (that accentuates his waist) to a higher point, giving the illusion of a higher waist.
Prior to the performance, one of the dancers was subject to injury and where the dancers are paired, this resulted in the performance being two dancers short.
