SDP in progress... Costume Store 3

I finished the Edwardian shirt and despite enjoying learning the processes and techniques, I was glad to have it done, as I did struggle working on something so delicate after Herbie Treehead's tailcoat (which was made from car seat fabric).
I am however, very enthused about constructing the Victorian blouse. It's refreshing to be working on womenswear again, for the first time this academic year (with the exception of the female ghost dancers during work experience at Strawberry Hill). I have already began to work faster and more efficiently- I feel a lot more focused as everyone's working on blouses now, whereas before there were only two of us working on the shirts. I am aware that in industry we would not necessarily be working in the same thing, its just nice to get a sense of coherence.
It has become clear in this project that I am improving my confidence in cutting and I am beginning to better understand the construction of garments by merely looking at them and finding solutions. This has been a very worth-while skill to learn and has already began to improve my confidence in construction.
